More stuff...

Well, Kelly and I used a gift card to get some more of the big stuff for the nursery. We got our playyard (pack and play), diaper pail, and hamper. We got baskets to go into the changing table and dresser to help us organize diapers and little odds and ends. Babies has so many little bitty things that I just know I'm going to end up losing them all. So now we have a basket for binkies, one for teethers, one for bibs and one for little accessories (like sunglasses). We have put up all the little clothes that you see all over in the pictures and got pretty much everything organized. Tonight we put together the playyard and broke it back down just to see that everything went together and worked. Also, we had problems with our diaper pail because it sticks really bad. Kelly took it back and then opened 10 other boxes to see if he could find one that worked. We had bought the pink one and he ended up bringing home a blue one since it seemed to work better. Once I got up and played with it, I decided that it stuck worse than the pink one and if we were going to have something that didn't work very well, it might as well be cuter. So we will be taking it back and getting a pink one again. I know it can be fixed with a little grease just didn't think a new product should need it. However, I don't want to buy a different type as this one has good reviews. But I think I will spend some more time researching to see if there is a better one out there that takes normal bags because I think it's stupid to have to have special cartridges for diaper pail bags. But I guess that is all, I will take more pictures so you can see the decorations we have put on the shelves and the little changes that have been made and possibly get a new belly pictures up so everyone can see how big our little girl is getting.

The most exciting thing yet...

Well, yesterday we finished the nursery. Almost. We finished our cute little animals. We got the nobs put into the drawers and doors. And all the furniture is put together and arranged in the room. Now don't be mad, the pictures aren't great. They were taken after spending all day working hard on the nursery and it was almost 2 am by the time we got our tired butts to bed. But it just needs a few tiny touch ups and it will be done with the painting and moving part.

Now all we have to do is sort the closet of stuff we have accumulated in the last couple weeks. And this is tougher than you might think. I started doing it last night and whew, I know we have tons of drawers but now what goes in which drawer! And let me tell you about this furniture, I thought the dresser would be the hardest because it is the biggest. But we started with the changing table, thinking it was the smallest piece of furniture and it has a little cubby hole to help keep it out of the way as we put the other furniture together. This little thing was the hardest darn thing to put together and the instructions weren't very good, but we got it figured out. The crib came next, it wasn't too bad as there basically are four sides and two bottoms to the thing. The crib went together really fast. And then we sat there and looked at it stunned. IT'S HUGE! We had measured everything else out so we knew where they would fit and exactly how big they were, but not the most vital part of the nursery. So, after deciding we probably won't have room for the glider in the nursery, it'll have to go into our room, we moved onto the heaviest part of the room. Kelly had had our neighbor help him move it upstairs so we just had to get it down the hall a little closer to the nursery. As we cut open this huge box (it was at least 4 ft tall), we realized that inside, our dresser was already all put together all we had to do was figure out how to get it out of the box. Kelly figured that if we just cut down the sides of the box we could just pull it out of this box and with a little tugging and pulling and fighting with plastic wrap, we got it done. So, now we had all the furniture in the room. I sent Kelly to make dinner and I made the bed and started unpacking some of the clothes that were given to us. These clothes came from a little boy who didn't wear much of them, however, most of them are blue. I sorted through them to find the ones that were unisex looking and put the rest in the spare bedroom so we would have them for later, just in case.

We put these black our curtains up in the nursery so that we could block the sun when it comes up because the nursery (just like our room) faces East, so when the sun comes up in the morning, it gets bright even if the blinds are shut and the curtains are closed. And the room gets hot too. So when my father moved out of his house, he gave us two of these. Yesterday while Kelly was painting animals ( I just can't do little bitty detail work, but he does really well at it since he did a lot of it when he did model painting) I figured out how to use a power screwdriver and took down the blinds in the room and hung these black out curtains (it's like blinds but they are really solid and block all the light and heat). I was impressed that I could work a screw driver!

I am working on getting the pictures up on photobucket so you can see all of them from start to finish. And I know that I need to get better pictures with some normal lighting in the room.

As for other things, I have been feeling Mattie move a lot. It feel funny and I think I get confused by it. I think it's gas but then she'll kick me again and I realize that's not gas, THAT'S MY LITTLE GIRL! It's exciting but not yet strong enough for Kelly to feel yet. Well, she does it so quick that I don't have time to even put my hand on my belly to see if you can feel it from the outside yet.

I guess I've blabbed long enough, we are just extremely excited to finally be to a point where we can start organizing for baby. But on and end note, the puppies are fine. Their eyes are opening and they are starting to walk. We do play with them in between running around for the nursery. I'll try to get some pictures up here.

Funny Times...

So, after much waiting and anticipating, we finally started painting the animals on the walls. Only to find out that they are going to be too small.. haha.. We had bought a book with animals in it and then we bought stencils. We traced the animals onto the stencil and then cut the animal out.. Kelly practiced a few times on spare wood to see how it was going to turn out and then last night, while I was sleeping, he painted one on the wall.. He came in and woke e up to show me what it looked like.. It was cute only really small.. So, now we have to redo the stencils and blow the pictures up.. Ah, it is funny to me.

And we are all done painting the room. Just a few touch ups on the barn and that'll be done. We need to finish the clouds and the animals and then we are done with paint. We still have to line the drawers and the cabinets, but then we will be done with that stuff and can put together the furniture. Oh, and we are going to put a fence around the horizon.

Also, we are still debating on how we are going to spell our little girls name.. So if the spelling changes that's because Kelly and I are debating. :) But we are sure of the name and nothing any one says will change that. Yes, we are aware that some of the family doesn't like it but we feel strongly that it is our child and we will name it whatever we want to.

Busy, Busy, Busy..

Well, Kelly and I have been sooo busy. We are about 80-85% done with the painting in the nursery.. I know I need new pictures. I will try to get them tonight. I am eating dinner with my mom and Bob. Earlier today I helped my dad move out of his house and his renters will be moving in tomorrow. I am excited because he had black out shades in his bedroom and now I have them.. They make your room dark as a cave in the middle of the day. Soooo nice for us who work at night. Mattie is growing and making my belly stick out more. I'm still not 'noticably' pregnant, but we are getting there. My hair is growing out.. I want it to be long enough to put in a ponytail by the time the baby is born so that it'll be easier to pull up and out of the way as I run around trying to care for a newborn. Well, off to dinner for me!

We finally got our crib delivered and they gave us a free mattress after they were very rude to us when we went to pick it up originally and then they told us they lost it and we'd have to wait another week or two while they reordered it. Long story... But we finally have it and just waiting for the painting to be done so we can put it together! Sooooo exciting!

Here is the small wall in the nursery.. almost done with the painting but our poor closet is almost overflowing with stuff... It's really not that much stuff, just poorly organized in there plus a few empty boxes.. I can't wait to get the dresser up there and put together so I can declutter the closet. Right now it is sitting in the office in a huge box so it blocks all the light but it is too heavy for me to help move upstairs. We will see who we end up suckering into helping us get it upstairs.

And it's a....

We found out today that we are having a little girl.. Her name will be Manhatten Hope Orman. I am working on getting the pictures up that we got of her today. We are also a little farther along in the pregnancy than we though, just a few days. Today we were 18 weeks and 5 days. The nursery is progressing along more today since Kelly has the day off.. We just have the trip left on the barn and the shelves, which will get done either today or tomorrow. Kelly is starting the wall so before you know it, they too will be done.. I will get the pictures up here soon.

Big Day

Well, tomorrow is our next doctor appt and we may just find out what our baby is.. Besides a baby that is. :) But we will have to make another appt after tomorrow to get a full ultrasound done to make sure all of baby's organs are developing properly and this is where we will get the official sex of the baby. We are almost done with the 'barn' in the nursery and will hopefully start painting the walls tomorrow after our appt. It's exciting to be getting it done. It feels like we are way ahead of schedule on getting the room done but we get so busy that it is nice not to feel rushed to get it done. This is after I got the first coat of paint on the barn. Still needs another coat or two and then on to the walls!

The puppies are fine. They are moving around a lot but other than that they don't do much. They are the most fun once their eyes open and they start to walk. But they are never as much fun as our own dogs. They don't have names so they don't come when you call or really play with you at all.

This puppy was hiding underneath the blanket in their kennel. Guess he is camera shy.

Back to painting for me. Here is a picture at 18 weeks.. I'm covered in paint from the nursery. :)

Finally...

Well, after hours of hard labor we finally had 6 puppies born. 4 boys and 2 girls. We went to the vet this morning and all are healthy. Mom (Foxy) is doing good too. We are 75% of the way done with the barn in the nursery. Kelly thinks that we will be able to start painting it later today, which is really exciting. We got some of the furniture for the nursery last night. Just waiting on them to reorder the crib, since they ordered the wrong thing some how or another. (It was right on the order form they printed out and the right crib got paid for.)

Well, I guess that is all for now. Just wanted to give the final numbers on the pups and how they were doing. Kelly has the day off so we are hard at work on the barn.. I will try to get some updated pictures of it up on here soon.

This is a picture right after we got the top done and the roof as well.

This is the barn after we finished the right side(before the roof was on).. It's not completely done.. You'll see!

I was just excited to see it go from a drawing that Kelly made to being up in the room. :) I had to take pictures.

PUPPIES!!!

Well, Kelly and I are grandparents again! We are in the process of having puppies... Right now we have three born and who knows how many more.. Last litter she had 8! So, I will definetly update once we are done here. It's messy business but it is our last litter as we are using the money we make from these puppies to get both our non spaded females done.. We don't think we will have the time to invest into another litter. We didn't even want this one but Chesty got a hold of Foxy and we were hoping that we wouldn't have any result from that but he has good little spermies I guess.. I'll put a picture on here of the last litter we had, they were soooo cute.. But a pain in the butt.. :)

The Start of Something

So, here we sit (baby and I), unable to sleep so I figured I'd find a way to keep in touch with everyone at once.

The most recent of updates:

Kelly is building the 'barn'. It is looking fabulous. All he has left are 3 drawers and a shelf before we put on the last little touches. Then, and only then, am I allowed to PAINT. I can't wait.

I'm finally all done with school this semester. So I am done till January. I don't think I'd be able to lug this baby back and forth to school when its million and a half degrees outside. Plus, with gas prices ever rising, I'll wait to go back. We drive enough and the 3o-45 minute drive to school just isn't appealing. We have to drive an hour to the doctors office and 30-45 minutes to get my blood taken every few weeks.

We are expecting puppies. We are completely unsure of when they are coming, but I think it will be soon. Foxy is huge so we will probably be having quite a few (even though we don't want any).

As you can see here Foxy (the tan one) is getting quite large. And that little one showing off her ears is the baby. She's 7 months old now. And the black one is Kelly's baby. I don't think she cares much for me except that I feed her. We are missing one other puppy. He's the only boy out of the whole group. (that's why Kelly wans a boy, to help even the numbers)

We are awaiting our crib furniture and little surprise gift I got for Kelly. I will keep ya'll updated on what's going on. In one week exactly we are going back to the doctor to see how baby is doing and to make the appt for our big ultrasound. They will be checking all of baby's organs and (finally) letting us know what gender baby is going to be. So far, after taking votes, no one is sure what it's going to be.. It's TIED! And once we find out what baby is going to be we will let everyone finally know what the baby will be named. But not till then! :)

How`s my pregnancy doing?
